January 1, 1984, two congregations of Elizabeth, New Jersey—Third Presbyterian and Westminster Presbyterian—merged to form a new church family:

Third-Westminster Presbyterian Church!

Like the Brady Bunch family on television, we have had our ups and downs adjusting to being a “blended” family, but the good news is that 25 years later, we are still here at 780 Salem Avenue with love for our God and a living ministry to the community.

We want to observe our merged history of three congregations (including Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church) with a celebration to which you are invited.

Our celebration will begin with Worship at 11 a.m., Sunday, September 20, 2009. Following worship, those who are able are invited to gather on the parking lot where we will dedicate a newly planted tree. This tree will represent the “roots” of the three congregations who came together to become Third-Westminster and our vision of a ministry which will grow into the future.

After that brief ceremony, we will adjourn to Fellowship Hall for a luncheon and program including photos, stories, memories, and laughter. We hope that you will be a part of this special day.

Please let us know if you plan to attend the luncheon so that we may provide enough food for everyone. We ask that you send in your reservation, including how many will be in your party by September 10th! Please mail your reservation to the church address, OR click here to send an email, OR call: 908-352-5827, and then leave your message for the secretary, telling us your name and how many are in your party.

We’ll save a place for you.
